Gutters, Siding & Windows in Dallas County

No county in Iowa grew faster than Dallas County between 2010 and 2020. It went from 66,135 people to 99,678 in ten years, and Waukee alone grew by 73.6 percent. If you bought new in one of those growing subdivisions, take a hard look at the gutters the builder put up. Small gutters and short downspouts are common complaints, and they show up as water over the front edge, wet mulch beds and soggy spots by the foundation.

The west side of the metro is part of our normal run. We work in Waukee, Clive, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Grimes all the time, and we come out to Adel and the smaller towns regularly. Luke will tell you straight if your address is a stretch for us. We install seamless gutters, gutter guards, LP SmartSide and vinyl siding, windows and doors, plus framing for decks and 3-season rooms.

Growth from Waukee to Grimes

Waukee was laid out in 1869 and now holds a data center Apple picked in 2017. Grimes, which spills into Dallas County, nearly doubled between 2010 and 2020, going from 8,246 people to 15,392. When that many families move in, a lot of yards get graded, sodded and fenced around downspouts that just dump at the corner. We fix that with bigger downspouts, flip-up hinges where you mow, and underground drainage that pipes water out to a pop-up emitter.

Adel, the county seat on the North Raccoon

Adel is the Dallas County seat and its oldest town. The courthouse in the middle of downtown was finished in 1902, and the town sits along the North Raccoon River. The old rail line closed in 1987 and became the Raccoon River Valley Trail. River towns grow big shade trees, and big trees fill gutters. A gutter guard with a micro-mesh screen keeps out maple seeds and leaves so you are not up a ladder twice a fall.

Siding for new builds and first repairs

Many Dallas County families are on their first round of siding work: a panel that blew loose, a hail-dented wall on the windy side, or trim that needs to match. We install LP SmartSide lap siding and vinyl, with house wrap, flashing tape and J-channel done right behind it. If you like sage green lap siding with white trim, our job photos show how that looks on a new two-story. Luke will help you match a color or plan a full re-side.

Questions

Dallas County Questions

More answers on our FAQ page and in the guides.

Do you install gutter guards in Waukee and Dallas County?

Yes. Waukee, Clive, Grimes and the rest of the west metro are part of our normal run, and we come out to Adel and the smaller Dallas County towns regularly. We install LeafFX and Gutter Topper leaf protection and mesh guards that handle maple seeds. Call or text (515) 901-3646 and Luke will tell you which guard fits your roof.

Why do new homes in Dallas County, Iowa get water over the gutters?

Usually the gutter is too small for the roof, the downspouts are too few, or the pitch is off. A big two-story roof can send more water in a hard storm than a 5-inch gutter can carry. Moving to 6-inch gutters, adding a downspout or fixing the pitch usually solves it. Luke checks all three on a free estimate.

Is LP SmartSide good for Dallas County homes?

LP SmartSide is an engineered wood lap siding with a painted wood look. It needs the right gaps, flashing and ground clearance to last, and that is how we install it. We install both LP SmartSide and vinyl. Luke will lay out the differences for your house and your budget on a free estimate.

How far west does Flow Right work in Dallas County?

We work across the west metro all the time, including Waukee, Clive, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Grimes. Adel, Van Meter, Dallas Center and Perry are toward the edge of our area, but we come out regularly. Call or text (515) 901-3646 with your address and we will tell you straight.
