Gutters, Siding & Windows in Story County

Story County is on the north edge of the area we serve, and we come out regularly. Ames is the biggest town and home to Iowa State University, the nation's first designated land-grant university. Nevada is the county seat. The county had 98,537 people at the 2020 Census. If you own a house or a rental here and the gutters are sagging, leaking or full, call or text (515) 901-3646. Luke will tell you straight if your address works for us.

A college town means a lot of rentals, and rentals need gutters that keep working between tenants. We work for rental property owners and managers, and we know a landlord does not want a callback every spring. We clean gutters, replace worn ones with new seamless gutters, add guards and fix downspouts that dump next to the foundation. We also replace vinyl siding, soffit and fascia.

Ames and Iowa State

Ames, the biggest town in Story County, was founded in 1864 as a stop on the railroad, and Iowa State counted 30,177 students in fall 2023. If you own a rental near campus, you know how hard tenants can be on a house. A gutter that pulls off the fascia or a downspout knocked loose by a car is a common call. See our page on gutters in Ames for what we install.

Nevada, the county seat on the Lincoln Highway

Nevada was platted in 1853 and runs along the Lincoln Highway, US 30, which is called Lincoln Way in town. Its downtown historic district joined the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, and the town became an Iowa Main Street community in 2019. Storefronts and houses near a downtown like that often carry long gutter runs and tight corners where a clean miter and a sealed end cap matter.

Huxley, Slater and the small towns

Huxley calls itself the Heart of the Prairie, and Story City is home to a 1913 Herschell-Spillman carousel. Story County's small towns spread across open farm country, and open country lets the wind get at a house. That is hard on loose siding panels, soffit and gutters with spikes backing out. We replace damaged vinyl, hang gutters on hidden hangers and set gutter guards that stay put in a strong west wind.

How far north does Flow Right go in Story County?

We come out to Ames, Nevada, Huxley and the Story County towns regularly. Story County is on the north edge of the area we serve from our shop in Mitchellville, so call or text (515) 901-3646 with your address. We will tell you straight whether it is a fit.

Should I replace or repair the gutters on my Story County house?

If the problem is one leaking seam, a loose hanger or a single bent section, repair usually makes sense. If seams leak all over, the gutter sags in several spots or the fascia board behind it is rotting, new seamless gutters are often the better spend. Luke will tell you which one on a free estimate.

Do you install vinyl siding in Ames and Nevada, Iowa?

Yes. We install and repair vinyl siding, plus aluminum and vinyl soffit and fascia, across Story County. On a full re-side we go over a sound wall with house wrap and flashing tape at windows and doors. On a repair we match the profile and color as close as we can. Luke will go over colors and profiles with you.
