Ankeny Gutters and Gutter Guards
Ankeny keeps growing, and so do the roofs. We put up seamless gutters sized for the water your roof actually sheds, plus leaf guards and downspouts that carry it clear of the house.
Gutters built for Ankeny roofs
Ankeny is one of the fastest-growing cities in Iowa, going from 67,887 people in the 2020 Census to an estimated 77,833 in 2025. Many houses here have big roofs with valleys, and a gutter below a valley takes a lot of water in a short burst. If yours overflows at the same corner every storm, that is a sizing or outlet problem, and it is one we fix often.
We form 5-inch or 6-inch K-style seamless gutters on site in the color you pick, so there are no joints along the run to drip. Hidden hangers go into the fascia board, the pitch runs toward each outlet, and downspouts land on splash blocks or tie into underground tile. Our seamless gutter installation page walks through each step.
Ankeny sits in north-central Polk County, close to home for us. Our shop in Mitchellville is on the same east side of the metro, and Luke does the estimates himself. You will probably meet Luke or Jaxx on install day. To see everything else we offer in town, visit our Ankeny service area page, then call or text (515) 901-3646.

Ankeny details that shape the job
Hail on September 8, 2026
Storm reports from September 8, 2026 included 2.25-inch hail in Ankeny, about the size of a tennis ball. Hail that size can dent gutter fronts, crush downspout elbows and knock guards out of place. If your gutters took a hit, we will come look, photograph what we find and give you a written estimate you can use. We stay out of insurance claims, and Iowa law does not let contractors promise to cover or rebate a deductible.
Parks, trails and trees
Ankeny counts 60 parks covering more than 800 acres and over 100 miles of trails, including a High Trestle Trail trailhead. All that green space comes with trees. Maple seeds come down in spring, and in Iowa eastern cottonwood drops its fluff from May through August. Trees near the roof fill gutters faster, wherever they stand. That is why the old leaf guard page now points here: we still install gutter guards and leaf protection in Ankeny.
Downspouts that leave the yard
From the Prairie Trail district, which the city began planning in 2004, to streets near the DMACC Ankeny campus, every lot drains a little differently. A downspout that empties at the corner of the house feeds water straight to the basement wall. We extend downspouts past the backfill, add splash blocks, or pipe the water underground to a pop-up emitter. Before anyone digs, buried lines get marked through Iowa One Call.

Ankeny Gutters Questions
Not seeing yours? Call or text (515) 901-3646 and ask Luke.

Luke, Jaxx & Larry
A family business, third generation. Luke runs every estimate himself and Jaxx works the jobs with him. Larry, the shop dog, mostly supervises.
Did the September 2026 hail in Ankeny damage my gutters?
Maybe. Look for dents along the gutter front, flattened downspout elbows, loose end caps and guards that shifted. Binoculars help from the ground. If you see anything, call or text us. We will check it, take photos and write up an estimate you can share with your insurer. The claim itself stays between you and your insurance company.
Are gutter guards worth it on an Ankeny home?
If trees hang over your roof, usually yes. Micro-mesh handles maple seeds and cottonwood fluff better than big-hole screens. Guards still need an occasional rinse, and they do not stop ice dams. Our guide, are gutter guards worth it, lays out the trade-offs honestly.
Should my Ankeny house have 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
It depends on roof area, pitch and how many valleys empty into one spot. Plenty of houses do fine with 5-inch. Big roofs, steep pitches and valleys that dump into one corner often need 6-inch gutters with larger downspouts. Luke measures first and shows you why before you decide.
